I-O DATA Announces a New LibraENC Powered Video Capture Card

The GV-D4VR is I-O DATA’s latest D4 video capture card available in Japan. Granted that beside Japan no one gives a XXXX about D4, but in case you want to capture video and use D4, you will be glad to hear the GV-D4VR a is powered by NTT Electronics LibraENC LSI (Full High-Definition MPEG-2 Single-Chip A/V Encoder LSI) as well as the ADV7401 (10-Bit, Integrated, Multiformat SDTV/HDTV Video Decoder and RGB Graphics Digitizer) and records top notch video in both HD and SD in MPEG-2 at a maximum of 79.2Mbps!!!

If at this point you’re still wondering what D4 is… Forget about it!

D4 as in component (RGB) video right?

So, can this thing capture 1080i or 720p?

  • whoever

D4 socket itself is unique to Japan, but the standard is just 720p component. i.e. You can get D4 to standard component cables etc.

Its unbelievable how bad the technical info is on this website.

it should be able to capture 720p/1080i
perfect if you want to capture PS3 or xbox 360 videos on your PC.
D-terminal is the equivalent of Component RGB, if youre in japan PS3 and Xbox 360 has a D4 cable sold separately.
if you import this product, and your source is Component you can also buy a cable that converts D4 to RGB component though that will warrant small quality loss.
and the price os this card is much appealing than way back, it used to cost as much few hundreds to thousands of dollars, now only 150 to 300.

it can also be used if you are like me a PC addict, use PC and play PS3 via PIP, i can easily use both PC and ps3 at the same time using 1 monitor. coz the ps3 will just be in one of the windows.
