Gemei is a Chinese company with a focus on PMPs and DAPs. Now they have a new nice little PMP, the Gemei HD-660 that plays 720p HD. Available with up to 32GB of internal memory, it features a 4.3” WQVGA LCD (480×272) , supports JPG, BMP, and PNG image, RM, RMVB, AVI, FLV and MPEG video, and MP3, WMA, FLAC audio files. It weights only 147g at a size of 123×76x15mm.

The HD-660 is sold with a remote control and external video cable for plugging into a TV. Although it’s only been released in China, some can be had on websites like eBay.

It can’t play 720p (1280×720) with a screen with a resolution of 480×272.

Well, it can play 720P video but it cannot display it on its screen, however it can display it on a TV thanks to its TV out… Also what is “nice” here that if you happen to own 720p compatible with this PMP you do not need to re-encode them to watch them

It only plays XviD at 720p which isn’t terribly useful, the bulk of content in 720p are H.264 MP4 or MKV videos.

Real video must still be big in China as it’s practically dead elsewhere. Flash video support is nice though.
