Fujitsu LifeBook N7010 Secondary Display Quick and Dirty Hands-on

The nice folks over at Fujitsu sent us a LifeBook N7010, their latest desktop replacement with an integrated secondary touchscreen place above its keyboard.

Designed as the ultimate AV desktop replacement, the N7010 is sold in Japan with a nice remote to control the Media Center, a Digital TV Tuner, HDMI out, and to make sure that everything runs smoothly without noise, a nice water-cooling system…

The most intriguing thing about it, why we tested it, was the secondary touchscreen and how cool this addition could be.

The screen is just like an external one normally plugged into your PC, the advantage here is its touch capacity, its integrated Fujitsu launcher, and keyboard placement.

As you can see below, videos can be run directly from this screen or you AIM/MSNSKYPE Window, any thing you want. At the beginning I was quite skeptical as to how beneficial this could be… First, I usually watch movies when I write news and reviews at home on my 24”, I don’t really watch them but I need the noise to concentrate (I know this is weird)…. I also found out that this screen could also be used for memos…. you always have a notepad ready in-front of you with your important data, or just in case you need to write / remind something. Same can be applied to your RSS reader or MSN…

As I said earlier…. I was quite skeptical, but once I used it, I wish my MacBook Pro had a similar secondary screen… Well done Fujitsu!

Note, on our video you’ll also see how the Digital TV works with some pre-recorded HD video…
