I tried a *vlited W7 on an old P3 700mhz laptop with 300 MB of ram, and it was surprisingly usable (web, email, chat).

I think the whole bad vibe about Vista is just that it can be a big mess and can be real slow – especially on a so so laptop.

vista wasnt that bad its just tools label it bad because they want a reason to jump on the apple bandwagon. If you KNOW how to use vista its just as good as XP.

7 is really another OS, I gave an hard time to MS Team when I was in Seattle during their demo, but once I installed 7 on several low hand device I was amazed… On a Monster configuration you won’t really see the difference with Vista, or at least on this beta

So with that, every tech blog has given windows 7 a seal of approval. I guess it’s time to finally upgrade from xp. I have vista on my laptop (forced to) and it is horrible.

I’m glad you gave Win7 a try. Many would simply dismiss it simply because it’s a microsoft product. While I do love OSX, I have to say Win7 (for being a Beta!) is simply fantastic.

Competition only makes things better for us the consumer.
