Live from Fujitsu HQ : Fujitsu Japan Drops Vista for XP on Their LOOX U

Vista is everything but ideal when installed on Atom powered devices, and Fujitsu Japan decided that it was time for them to offer two new Atom powered Loox’s running XP:

-Loox U/C40 and its Atom Z530 (1.60GHZ), 1GB of RAM, 60GB of HDD, its usual 5.6” LCD with a WXGA resolution, a 1.3Mpix Camera, and Wifi ABGN and FM transmitter.

-Loox U/C30, powered by an Atom Z520 (1.33GHz), no web camera, Wifi BGN, FM transmitter.

Both have a CF/SD slot and Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR and weight only weight 670g with the enhanced battery.
Not only do these Loox U’s perform way better with XP Home, but Fujitsu also announced that this move will help them lower thier overall retail prices.

Hi. You mentioned XP Home as
the OS. Does this mean no tablet
functionality? If this is so, why still the rotating screen? Can you verify this? XP Tablet OS would have been much better for this UMPC.
    Thanks!
