Over 5 Million Aspire Ones Sold This Year, and a Future 10.1” Aspire One

Acer Japan sent us an interesting press release with two important statements. The first one is the total estimated sales worldwide of their Netbook the Aspire One, 5,08 Million Aspire Ones Sold. It’s important to remember that Acer only began selling their Netook in Taiwan early this July.

The following sales numbers are:

Q1- 0
Q2- 800,000
Q3- 2.2 Million
Q4- 2.8 Million (forecast)

Not bad at all!

Now the second part of this press release was the announcement of a 10.1” Aspire One (same specs) for 2009.

Meanwhile, we had the chance to play a little with the Aspire One and took great pleasure in shooting some pictures for you. If I’m honestly far from being a Netbook fan (we can find cheaper, compact, and more powerful stuff in Japan), I have to admit the Aspire One is a pretty nice little fellow!
