AG-H600 and PD-H600, Esoteric for the Rest of Us from TEAC

Esoteric always means business when stuck to the TEAC brand name. Most of the time Esoteric products are quite expensive and bulky, but today, Teac released a new CD player/amp combo based on this technology, at an affordable price of 1000€ for each element.

The AG-H600 amp has an output 2x75W at 8Ω and 2x90W at 4Ω. It also features an AM/FM radio tuner with iPOD control via a Teac iPOD cradle (sold separately). The PD-H600 is a CD player with a PCM1796 24 bit, 192kHz stereo audio DAC chipset, and supports WMA and MP3 files.

I am a huge fan of the TEAC Reference series. They re-did the 300 series last year (MkIII) and here are the 500 series upgrades, now “600″. Same toroidal transformer, I think, but loses some functionality from the AG-H500.

NB- This stuff is great, but it’s not Esoteric…

Oops, the above should read A-H500, that’s the toroidal equipped amp from the original reference line.
