Maxell Officially Announces Their P2 Card!

When it comes to shooting video in HD, Panasonic’s P2 Technology combined with the DVCPRO HD Codec is by far our favorite combo here at Akihabara News, NihonCar.com and ManualGear.com. Unfortunately P2 cards (SDHC cards in a PCMCIA card) were only sold by Panasonic at a pretty heavy cost.

We waited years for other alternatives, and this morning Maxell came to our rescue with their official line-up of P2 cards: the P2C-16A (16GB), P2C-32A (32GB) and P2C-64A (64GB). We have yet to get any idea how much they’ll cost, we can only hope for the better.

Scheduled for a Japan, March 2009, release.
