Sanyo’s LP-XTC50, a New User Friendly Projector
Yesterday Sanyo announced a new projector that we haven’t taken much interest in. However, there are a few features worth mentioning that simplify projector maintenance.
The big hub-bub about this model is that it comes with two operating modes that save ware on bulbs. This is great for places that have projectors installed on extremely high ceilings, ladders used when replacing bulbs can be quite dangerous.
Alternating Mode is a real benefit for the rental projector market by making it easier to handle a number of units without having to worry much about lamps.
In Relay Mode one lamp is used until it goes out, then the projector switches to an additional lamp. Sanyo explained this mode was designed for places like schools that have budgeting issues that prevent them from maintaining a stock of lamps. This may allow those places to wait until the start of a new budget to purchase new lamps, as they have 3000 extra hours.
The projector also comes with Sanyo’s AMF (When will they offer this option to consumers so we rarely have to change filters?), meaning less maintenance in this area too.
We’re happy to see this projector can perform both horizontal and vertical keystone correction. This is an area we’ve always found interesting. Sanyo previously released a smaller vertical correcting projector, the XW60, but this one should be fun to play around with. With 360-degree vertical projection, there should be a few places out there that can use this.
Enjoy a few pics courtesy of Sanyo!
