Friend got new dell notebook with vista and after few hours of trying to install dell multiprinter/scanner asked me to give it a go. That was my fist experince with Vista's plug&pray. No, we didn't install the dell printer on dell notebook with Vista. My friend ended up calling dell support and some guy from dell after only 2 hours of remote session managed to install it. So I am happy with my XP.

For those of you talking down on Vista. I know from my experience using it ever since it came out that Vista is a much more stable OS overall. It has yet to BOSD like XP and although it does use a little more resources than XP, you are getting a host of extra features that you are not getting with XP..not to mention it's more plug and play friendly, user friendly and stable.

Right now i'm running an older computer with 1.5ghz single core and 1.5 gb of RAM with Vista Ultimate and it does not show any signs of slowdown. It actually runs as well as XP did. So all of you saying that Vista crashes or is slow, you have no idea what you're talking about. Either that or you used Vista when it first came out and lacked security updates and a service pack. All those issues are resolved.

I highly recommend Vista, and a netbook with an Atom processor and 2 gigs of RAM will run Vista with no problem. Heck, the Asus N10 series already comes pre-installed with Vista.

Windows 7? Bit difficult to ship with an OS that hasn't been released yet (and latest version is a pre-alpha not released to the public). Netbooks have less processing power than most other computers, hence the lack of vista (XP uses far less resources, and in general is a better OS).

Its a UMPC. It uses Intel's Atom processor, which is meant to conserve battery. Vista requires too much processing power, arguably without any reasons. Plus, who would want Vista anyways? I'm surprised that Samsung isn't going to release one with Linux installed like Asus is with their eee PC.
