Watch Movie Trailers on Your Mobile Phone Thanks to Movie Posters

In October Japanese mobile phone operator Softbank, in cooperation with NTT Data, Hitachi, and Gemalto, will begin a Near Flied Communication (NFC) testing phase allowing some lucky beta testers to watch movie trailers (Wall-E and Tinker Bell) directly on their mobile phones by swiping them over dedicated movies posters.

The test will take place in a shopping mall in Chiba Prefecture (close to Tokyo) and will involve only 30 test subjects… Pretty small if they want the test to be representative for the 120 million of Japanese people.

If the test is successful, NFC will more than likely replace QR Code in Japan.
