Panasonic’s New DIGA Blu-ray Recorders

Panasonic introduced three new DIGA Series Blu-ray disc player/burners with built-in HDD for your home-theater, available September 1st.

Available with either 1TB (DMR-BW930), 500GB (DMR-BW830), or 320GB(DMR-BW730), our new Blu-ray burners are equipped with a dual digital TV tuner, HDMI output (60p/24p), USB port, SD/SDHC card slot, Panasonic’s UniPhier System LSI, support DTS-HD Master/ Dolby NR TrueHD/Dolby Digital plus codecs, DLNA, and VIERA Link compatible

These Blu-ray burners record your favorite TV programs with a writing speed of 6X in AVCHD (MPEG-4 AVC/H.264) format.

Prices will be 1700€ for the 1TB version, 1100€ for the 500GB version, and 900€ for the 320GB version.

Panasonic also introduced the DMR-BR630V; this Blu-ray recorder features almost the same specifications as the other three, but this one also has a built-in VHS player and 320GB of HDD. 980€.

Does this mean that we might get our DMR-BW500 updated here in Australia to 1TB? I think Australia is the only country outside Japan that has a BD Recorder available as a hi fi unit.
