The Spinn Finally Arrives!

Since the CES 2008, we’ve been patiently awaiting the launch of iRiver Spinn… Well… Now here it is!

As a reminder, this PMP is equipped with a 3.3″ AMOLED screen and weighs only 70 grams. It supports audio (MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC, ASF), video (MPEG4, WM9, WMA), DMB (mobile TV), radio, flash, and a lot of other things.

As you can see in the pictures it’s design is stunning. Two versions are available, 4GB at 259000Won (~ 164Euros) and 8GB at 299000Won (~ 189Euros). My wish list has grown a little longer.

I really like the minimalist design on this player. Will this be released in the US?

At 3.3″- 480X272 will give great video performance. That coupled with the AMOLED display will give the iriver spin some of the best video performance ever. The AMOLED display is the Active Matrix Organ LED type of display. This has much better contrast than traditional LCDs because the LCD has a backlight that always has some bleedthru. With an AMOLED display there is no bleedthru. The pixels are actual tiny LEDs. When a pixel is off it is BLACK on an AMOLED.
