Dino-lite: New Mini Digital Microscope Polarizer from Thanko

Thanko has released a new mini USB microscope-polarizer, the Dino-lite Polarizer. Our new mini-microscope is equipped with a 1.3 Mpix ¼” CMOS sensor, 8 LED, and displays image in SXGA resolution (1280×1024).

The Dino-Lite will allow you to mainly study everything electrical, as well as skin and hair. Light is polarized by a polarizing filter that allows you to better distinguish objects or skin that you’re examining.

A classical light is an electromagnetic wave that vibrates in all directions, but when you pass it through a polarizing filter, the light vibrates only in one direction. After having been polarized, some parts of you’re examining seem more or less bright, even in different colors and therefore, it allows you to distinguish better what you’re looking at.

However, polarizing microscopes are more appropriate for mineral analysis…

Look at these examples pictures, they will certainly explain this better than I.
