One Day Before the iPhone 3G’s Official Harajuku Launch…
14 hours before the iPhone 3G’s official Japan release we returned to Tokyo’s Harajaku district to collect more information about impatient customers.
Yesterday they were 26 Japanese in the queue in front of Softbank store. Today in the early afternoon there were 103… The queue is beginning to get long! You’ll notice some faces have changed. Some Japanese companies’ heads even asked their employees to queue for them… Unfortunately it’s is very difficult to interview them, especially the young lady with the white hat we saw yesterday on this picture.
Among the newcomers we met two Americans living in Japan. The first, an IT consultant and owner-manager, arrived last night around 10pm. He gave himself two days off to wait, but hasn’t decided which iPhone version he wants.
The other American arrived at 11am this morning, and appeared to be 62nd in line. He wants the 16GB version.
So, White or Black?
“I’m not really sure… I have a preference for Black, but it may show fingerprints too well.” . He probably will choose the Black iPhone “If I can get one! “. According to our Softbank sources, only 100 iPhones will be sold per store… We don’t know if that’s 100 of each version or a total of 100…
We have more news concerning our “future first iPhone 3G owner in Japan.” He’s still here! You’ll notice he’s changed his T-shirt…
“I found a capsule hotel where I could take a good shower and change into clean clothes! “[/ I]
He did appear a little tired. The non-stop interviews, the trip from Nagoya to Tokyo, the long wait… Good luck!
Of course we’ll be returning Harajuku tomorrow morning for the iPhone 3G’s official launch!
