Probably impossible to buy the unit alone. If it’s anything like the US, they’re going to activate the phone in-store so you have to buy the phone with 2-year contract.

The old iPhone in the US had a special system set up so that you couldn’t use an old SIM in the iPhone even if it was from the same network.

We just called Softbank to get further information about the new iPhone, but they didn’t want to answer to our question about the price, the contract…So we just have to wait & see

so do you know if a person has to activate the iphone at a softbank location or an apple store? in-store activation of the iphone is the latest word coming out of the tech blogs from the US.
