Is it really Mobile Safari, or simply a Webkit-based browser?

Symbian Series 60 has had a webkit-based browser for some time, which makes me wonder whether this is really “Mobile Safari”. Webkit is, of course, open-source, since it was based on KHTML and Apple was obliged to return code improvements to the community.

It seems rather unlikely that Apple would licence Mobile Safari to another vendor, considering what makes Safari Safari rather than Webkit is its user interface, and I can’t really see that being easy to replicate on a Symbian device.

indeed, it’s webkit-based. But Samsung writes “Safari” on their spec sheet :

Nokia used webkit too for the navigator of its S60 series.
