NEC Goes “Green” with its Latest VersaPro Type VE

NEC just updated its VersaPro line-up with the Type VE Series (available in BTO). Our 15.1” notebook features a 1280×800 LCD resolution, a Core 2 Duo T7250 at 2GHz, 80GB of HDD, and 1GB of RAM on its basic version. It includes an “Eco Button” which decreases energy consumption by 20% by lowering the CPU speed and screen brightness… Far from being as “Green” as Greenpeace would have expected, but it’s nice to save some battery lifespan.
