Willcom D4… The Tiny ATOM Powered UMPC

OH MY GOD, today Sharp and Willcom unleashed one of the coolest UMPCs ever created! The Willcom D4 aka WSO16H !

At just 470g and with a size of 84x188x25.9mm, here’s a stunning device running 1GB of RAM, 40GB of HDD, a Centrino Atom Z520 (1.33GHz), 5” touch screen (1024×600) LCD with LED Backlight, a full keyboard with PHS support, as well as Wifi B/G and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR. Our D4 also has a 2Mpix video camera and runs Windows Vista Home Premium.

    Well, a friend of mine saw it already for pre-orders. About 1500$… That was fast!

    But I think “PC” part will work outside of Japan, but for the Phone, let’s forget. Too bad.

    Fred, where can I buy one? This is the first UMPC that appears to provide a clamshell touch type keyboard! I have hated all the thumb input and slate UMPC’s thus far and want this computer. It seems perfect as it is narrow enough to fit in any jacket pocket!
