9 New Wooo HD TVs from Hitachi

This morning Hitachi unveiled nine new HD TVs with six LCD models and three PDP (plasma).

Let’s start with the:

-Wooo UT Series. Available in 32” (1366×768 ), 37″ and 42” (1920×1080), our LCD TVs are given a slim body with a thickness of only 35mm, also a 250GB internal HDD as well as an iV port for iVDR HDD cartridges. Our three models are DLNA compatible, support HD video in 1080p and have a 120Hz IPS LCD panel for the 42” model and IPS α for the other two. Hitachi also provides its UT series with DeepColor and x.v.Color support.

In order to keep the Wooo UT series TV slim, Hitachi detached many components from the TV itself and placed the dual TV tuner and other parts in an external box connected to our LCD by UWB (Ultra-Wide Band)

-Wooo XV Series. Available in 32” (1366×768 ), 37″, and 42” (1920×1080), these three LCD TV do not feature an internal HDD, but do feature an iV port. The XV Series is very similar in many ways to the above UT, but retained its internal component within the TV’s body.

-Wooo 02 Series. These Hitachi PDP TVs are available in 50” (1920×1080 or 1280×1080) and 42” (1024×1080). Only the 50” version features an internal HDD (250GB), but both have an iV port as well as DeepColor and x.v.Color.

Hitachi also launched a new application for its UT series, Wooonet. This enables you to transfer video content not only from PC to TV, but from one house to another, and allows access to a VOD (Video On Demand) portal.

Those are slim, yes sir. But, I don’t really like that they put another box next to the tv with the dual Tv-tuner and other stuff. I’m still pretty sure that Sharp is leading over Hitachi. And when are we gonna see some tv’s with lasertech? ^^;
