Hands on the Super Combo Stage Rack HDD

Named as a Street Fighter Killer-move, the Super Combo Stage Rack HDD comes out of the darkness after we helped putting a little light (almost 90.000 views on Dailymotion and still going strong) over the HDD Stage Rack family…seems it wasn’t enough as a new version has arrived: the Ultra Combo. Let’s find out what changes suggested the move from Super Combo to Ultra Combo.

To put it simply, this new HDD Rack now offers 4 types of connections for PC and MAC:
-Mini USB 2.0 (1)
-e-SATA (1)
-FireWire 400 (1394a) (1)
-FireWire 800 (1394b) (1)

So we tested it! The e-SATA and FireWire 800 (1394b) reached the limits of the Disk that we used (77MB/s) and there is room for more! With those connections you can basically use you Rack as an internal hard disk drive.
FireWire 400 does a better job than the USB which only advantage is its low CPU usage.
