It’s media center menu looks cool. However, at $400 plus the price of a HDD this doesn’t seem to make a whole lot of sense in my opinion. You could build a mini itx box running linux that you can update anytime and play any format out there…for less or about the same money (and it’ll have more features). The convenience of this device is however nice and I’d get one to have in my living room if the price was lower. Nice gadget nonetheless, I hope they fix the firmware soon.

1. overheats due to poor thermal design: no heatsink on the Sigma chip!

2. very loud with fan set to high: trying to prevent overheating…

3. USB port safety resistors burn out, if you attach it to a computer with power on

4. firmware is immature and can crash the whole box even on normal playback

Otherwise quite nice box
