HANOVER, GERMANY – March 4, 2008 – Samsung Electronics, a world-leading manufacturer of display products, released two kinds of crystal design monitors today at the CeBIT 2008 conference – the SyncMaster T240 and SyncMaster T260HD, which is embedded with a DTV tuner.

Samsung’s newly-released crystal design maximizes the natural color effects of materials through product design instead of using artificial colors. This allows for the generation of different colors and appearance depending on viewing angles and times. Three color monitors – rose black, emerald black and sapphire black – are scheduled to be released, giving users the best product for their surrounding interior.

These models do not just reduce the burden of high electricity costs but are environmentally friendly products. SyncMaster T240 boasts of the world’s lowest standby power of 0.3 Watts while SyncMaster T260HD reduces power consumption by more than 30 Watts during operation compared to existing models.

SyncMaster T240, a 24-inch monitor boasts of the highest performance with 20000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 5 ms response time. It maximized the convenience in connecting with other equipment by using various input terminals such as HDMI and USB 2.0.

SyncMaster T260HD, a 25.5-inch full HD monitor, features an embedded DTV tuner so that users can watch digital HD broadcasts without a special receiving set. With six image input terminals, users can connect several pieces of digital equipment to the T260HD and use them simultaneously. In addition, by employing the solution of SRS TruSurround XT to improve the sound, it provides the optimal condition to enjoy a variety of multimedia.

For general monitor, 19/20/22/24/25.5-inch crystal design models and for TV monitor, 20/22/24/25.5-inch crystal design models are scheduled to be released globally from March of this year.

“These are the first crystal design products released by Samsung and we expect they will make a big splash among design and performance-conscious consumers”, said YoonHo Ha, Senior Vice President of the Visual Display Division at Samsung Electronics.
