Hitachi’s New 400G Resistant HDD

Are you frequently communting to work via rocket ship, or enjoy blasting your gadgets with a shotgun? If so here’s the 2.5” HDD that NEEDS your laptop! The Travelstar 5K320 from Hitachi can sustain an impact up to 400G (2ms) in operation…

Just to give you an idea, 400G is normally (please correct me if I am wrong on this point) 400 times your weight (in this case the HDD case). Now available in 320GB here’s the ideal alternative to those expensive SSDs!

400G means in this case only momentary accseleration. Short word, acc. in smash time/point.

droping HDD from 1m on concrete we can achieve even 1000G, if deformation occure about 1-2mm (hdd or concrete).

400G for devices – it not so much, that look on first sight.
But looks seriously, right

Mmmm. More example:
drop your hdd from 2m high to concrete – hdd can receive more than 400G momentary (at meet point)
