1080-60p (Output) Compact HDD Camera, a World’s First? Really? No Kidding!

Hold on boys! No, this morning JVC did NOT announce a new compact HDD camera capable of recording video in 1080/60p, but rather TWO cameras which record video in 60i! Thanks to some electronic tricks, 60i videos in 60p while utilizing the MPEG-2 TS codec… YEAH… Well… Stated like this it doesn’t sound as sexy, does it.

A bit disappointing, but it’s easy to understand that building a 60p camera of this size (79×130x73mm for 585g) will cost you a leg and two arms although it would have been fun. If you’re interested in these new cameras, the HD6 has 120GB of HDD, and the HD5 60GB of HDD, providing you with 5 to 10 hours of video recording in 30Mbps.
