Sharp, the LCD TV Sales Leader in Japan.

The Japanese company GfK today unveiled recent market research regarding LCD TV sales in Japan. I must admit that I am quite surprised (and happy) to see that Sharp is by far the leader. Why happy? Simply because I own a Sharp LCD TV

On the other hand I’m stunned by not seeing Panasonic on this chart. Then again, Panasonic has put much more effort on PDP TV than LCD.

What about you? What do you think is the best brand when it comes to LCD TV? (Poll below)

More on the survey… GfK polled over 4500 stores across Japan during all of 2007. It is important to note that neither LG or Samsung sell TVs in Japan.

49% Sharp
7% Panasonic
24% Sony
4% Toshiba
14% Samsung
2% LG

No one can beat them. That\’s for sure.

wow, samsung doesn’t sell in japan? this is news to me, had no idea.
Any idea what kind of brands fall under the category “other”?

Sharp are the only ones making LCD panels in Japan, and it shows. Even though Sony has better electronics, the heart of a TV is the panel and Sharp wins eventually.

Look at LCD and plasma by Philips. Quality wise the best, feature wise OK, price wise not too expensive (but higher then most)

Worlwide Samsung is #1 in LCD sales, followed by Sony, Philips, Sharp and LG(all very close)

i’m from salesman sharp in carrefour semarang indonesia. i’m very happy too. good luck for u…thx
