A Concentration of Technology for the Last FinePix S8100fd
I confess that I have always been puzzled when seeing a small package digital camera offering a 18x optical zoom, as is in the case of our FinePix S8100fd (something like 27-486mm). I fully understand the importance of a camera offering the largest possible zoom but what will be the final result?
In short here is the latest from FujiFilm which on paper causes us to drool: a compact body with a size of 111.3 x78, 2×79, 3mm at 500g, a 10Pix sensor, pushes up to ISO 6400, supports both the SD / SD and xD, has 58Mg of internal memory, a 2.5″screen, and a magnificent 18x optical zoom.
Indeed, very pretty on paper. I’m thinking of asking FujiFilm to ship this little monster to David for a test. If there is are any Fujifilm camera users in the room, thanks for posting a small comment below and sharing your experiences. Good or bad!

Ive had a fujifilm camera the S9500 all most 3 years now. I got it refurbished off there site so was pretty cheap. because of this i ended up returning it twice for repairs.
Apart from that the quality has been great. Fuji film is all about vibrant colour and is perfect for bright colorful images. i think fuji film is slight unraved about because of cannon and Nikon but the quality of there camera’s if just as good.
Easy to use and great on its automatic setting. I looking forward to seeing this camera might even be a future buy.
wow. incredible zoom! can it go even to 24x with a lower resolution? My olympus can zoom from 10x to 12x by lowering the resolution.

I have an S9500
I have returned it twice for repairs, once the sensor and once for a broken command wheel. And have had the entire camera replaced.
And that was within the first year, so it was luckily all covered.
Other than that, quality is great, except for lower light shots, which can be anything from an overcast day to an indoor shot, where the camera doesnt cope well.
