The R500 will represent the top of Toshiba’s UMPC range. Two versions will be released, 11J and 11I.
The 11J, with 64GB of SSD and no optical drive, is clearly looking for a fight with the Mac Book Air! Regardless of what Mr. Jobs says, Toshiba claims to have the thinnest and lightest laptop in the world (779g and 25.5mm).

You mean Toshiba R500 in the title.
As mentioned, I assume you mean to say the Portege R500 in the title. Also, I don’t see how this is targeting the MacBook Air. In addition the R500 was announced and marketed a long time ago.
25.5 mm is 2.55 cm… the MacBook Air is between 0.4 and 1.94 cm……..

it’s already filled with 2gb of ram, and the max is 2gb… then what’s the slot for?
