Welcome the New Toshiba Qosmio!

The Toshiba Corporation announced today their brand new Qosmio notebooks should be available in your favourite Japanese Geek shop at the end of this month.

If you’re looking for power, the Qosmio G40 has got it! With a 17 inch widescreen LCD (1920×1200 WUXGA resolution), an NVIDIA 8600 GT, 400GB HDD (2×200), HD-DVD player/burner, T9300 Core 2 Duo (2.5GHz) Penryn powered with a 45nm processor backed up by an Intel PM965 Express…Next come the connections…5 USB 2.0 ports, Type2 PC card, ExpressCard/54, SD card (SDHC/MMC/xD-Picture Card/Memory Stick PRO) and the network: WiFi IEEE 802.11a/b/g, LAN, Gigabit Ethernet, 56K modem plus an HDMI out among other things…

Before I forget, the G40 includes a 1.92MPx webcam. With so much stuff working together, it’s not surprising to find a pretty weak autonomy of 3 hours…good regarding the level of equipment.

Dimensions (440×299.4×38.1-45.3mm), weight (4.8kg) and price (open price from 430,000 yen = 2.700€ with VISTA OS) is the only remaining info!
