LG unveil a new HD-DVD and Blu-Ray external Drive

We are still starving to death to get more information on this new external Drive but hey ! Here you are a new Super Multi BLUE from LG which will support both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. Hey wait a minute, HD-DVD ? Is this still worth ? I am mean, just after that The HD-DVD decided to “Postpone” their Press conference at the CES 2008 due to Warner Home Video who decided to drop the HD-DVD in order to concentrate its effort on the Blu-Ray… well who will need HD-DVD support now anyway ?

You guys clearly love BD, but with its Region Lock and BD+ DRM, HD-DVD is always going to be the better format.

Which usually means it will lose of course, we already know idiots tend to buy the wrong things. I’m guessing YOU have BD!

Well, I will say that I am not a Toshiba Fan, and since HD-DVD is a Toshiba product… And yes I own a PS3 so I own several BD disc movies, but for me region code never been an issue, all my DVD drive has been made RPC-1, I really mean ALL, and I always bought RPC-1 DVD player for my TV… so really the Region lock stuff is not an issue at all.

And yet that whole “always bought r1″ shouldn’t even exist, and we should not even need to have to fight rpc1, risking hacked firmware, voiding warranties etc, finally someone dares do the right thing, and removes regions! Sell music without DRM! All yes!

Yeah HD-DVD is MS even, and you don’t hate Toshiba more than I hate MS Don’t forget Sony’s rootkits so quickly..

What is all this bickering about?

Look behind the scenes? How many movie companies has sony got their little grubby mits in?

Sure sell some player and a PS3 or 2,but the real money in the movies?

    ALSO
    What do I do?

I want a 60 gigaflop ver of the PS3 (second hand that is) from hard off or some where.

BUT Can`t use it to play Blu stray movies in Australia because of the stupid region code?

    So what do I do?
