Merry XMAS, ok in Advance, but HEY ! We are OFF !

Merry XMAS, ok in Advance, but HEY ! We are OFF !

Dear Readers from AROUND THE WORLD (Daft Punk), on Behalf of All the team working EVERYDAY on Akihabara News, I would like to wish you in advance a Merry XMAS (The very same one as in Futurama).

As you will surely understand, there will be very little news in the following weeks, and until the 7th of January, since most Japanese companies will be closed from the 28th of December up until the 6th of January. Do not worry too much though, since we will definitively try to update you as much as we can on the latest news coming from Asia.

Cheers !

Daimaou (Space Pig)

Have a good Festivus everyone. May you all clearly communicate your grievances and have a glorious struggle to pin down the head of your households.

“Xmas” has been used since the mid-16th century. The Merriam-Webster dictionary at m-w.com dates it to 1551. The American Heritage Dictionary at bartleby.com says: “Xmas has been used for hundreds of years in religious writing, where the X represents a Greek chi …. But people unaware of the Greek origin of this X often mistakenly interpret Xmas as an informal shortening ….” (Of course it is true that the abbreviation is often used informally, and you may object to such usage.) Merry Christmas!
