RD-A301, the New HD-DVD and HDD Recorder from Toshiba

And it seems that Toshiba still believes in the HD-DVD… Amazing, isn’t it? Anyway, here you are, and just for all you HD-DVD fan boys: the ultimate HD-DVD Video recorder, the Vardia RD-A301, which also features a 300GB internal HDD. Not only you will be able to record HD Video on your HDD or HD-DVD (MPEG-4 AVC/H.264), but also on regular DVDs and DVD-RAM (Mpeg-2).
On the back of your RD-A301 you will find ONLY 1 HDMI output, 1 D4, an Ethernet port and the usual S-Video and so on.
The Good news is that despite the fact that we only have 300GB of internal HDD, the RD-A301 will be sold at a very competitive price of roughly 600€… Not bad!

Amazing? No, it’s logical. They have mroe affordable players and a larger library. Sony has price gouging. It’s amazing Sony is still in the battle.

Toshiba IS the developer of HD-DVD technology. Why it would be “amazing” if they are backing up and nourishing their own technology?

these are great.. check out my reviews.
