Sharp’s HomePlug is back!

Sharp recently announced the arrival of the V1.1 of their HomePlug AV system.

For those who don’t know what it is, no need to go googling for info, the HomePlug AV is a communication protocol designed to facilitate the interaction between various devices in one environment; we also call it Home Networking (now that makes more sense). This system has already been chosen by over 50 companies.

So what about this V1.1, as we didn’t hear about V.1?
As you could expect, both speeds (up and down) have been increased, overall that is 200MBps, 55MBps TCP and 85MBps UDP to be precise. An AES 128bits encryption tool is also part of the product which can cover a maximum distance of 150 metres.

Available to the professionals in November in exchange of 155€.
