A new PNS from Sony is out in Japan.

Sony a while ago said they will discontinue some products in order to save money… it was at the very same time that they announced they would discontinue the Aibo line-up, as well as the Qualia one, and their GPS business… That said, they released several months later their very first PNS (Portable Navigation System), the NV-U1… We at NihonCar.com and MGear.co.jp are using this very same product… And well, today they decided that the NV-U1 was not enough for us fellow Japanese geeks, and just launched the NV-U2.
This new PNS is quite similar to the older version, but has a much slimmer body with a thickness of just 20mm (145×87x20mm), and a weight 250g. Another new feature on the NV-U2, is its new GPS chipset, the G Position Plus, which is supposed to be much more accurate than on the NV-U1 (which is still pretty good). On a side note this GPS has a 4.8″ LCD touch screen with a resolution of 480×272, as well as supporting MPE-G4 video files.
