Panasonic unveils its new 7 series notebook line up

Widely known in Japan as Let’s Note and Toughbook Executive worldwide, Panasonic this morning unveiled to the world a new line-up of notebook, the 7 Series with the CF-R7, CF-W7, CF-T7, and CF-Y7.

Panasonic is proud of its Toughbook line-up, since they have among the most reliable computer available on the market. Even if we are talking about an “everyday” usage computer, Panasonic offers a dustproof, waterproof and shockproof computer in a stylish package.

So what’s new ?

CF-R7, Core 2 Duo ULV U7500 (1.06GHz), Chipset Intel GM965, 1GB of RAM, 80GB of SATA HDD, 10.4” LCD XGA, Wifi Intel Pro Wireless 4965AG with HSDPA optional module, Bluetooth.

CF-W7, Core 2 Duo ULV U7500 (1.06GHz), Chipset Intel GM965, 1GB of RAM, 80GB of SATA HDD, 12.1” LCD XGA, Wifi Intel Pro Wireless 4965AG with HSDPA optional module, DVD, Bluetooth for 1.280kg.

CF-T7, Core 2 Duo ULV U7500 (1.06GHz), Chipset Intel GM965, 1GB of RAM, 80GB of SATA HDD, 12.1” LCD XGA, Wifi Intel Pro Wireless 4965AG with HSDPA optional module, Bluetooth for 1.385kg (this model is heavier due to the Touch Panel option available in Europe / US only).

CF-Y7, Core 2 Duo L7500 (1.6GHz), Chipset Intel GM965, 1GB of RAM, 80GB of SATA HDD, 14.1” LCD XGA, Wifi Intel Pro Wireless 4965AG with HSDPA optional module, DVD, Bluetooth for 1.550kg.

Finally, all these devices are, while running, able to sustain a drop from a maximum height of 76cm, as well as a pressure of 100kg on the case, and are water/coffee/tea (or whatever liquid)-proof on the keyboard.
For Europe, Panasonic offers 2 new nifty features with an HSDPA module (the SIM card is located on the top of the case), as well as an optional touch screen panel (on some models only).

    I got a r-7 but since the day I have it I am wondering, where is the hole on the bottom so that the water which you can put on the keyboard can run off?
    I saw that the Y and W series have a hole on the bottom. Maybe you have an idea how it works?
