Sharp Unveils Its First Blu-ray Player outside Japan

Sharp has officially unveiled the BD-HP20S, its first dedicated Blu-Ray movie player outside of Japan.

Amazingly, Sharp’s new player is the first to add Blu-ray Java support for more advanced features and sports HDMI 1.3 with support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD.

Besides that, the player upscales regular DVDs to 1080p and offers 24fps playback.

So far there is no price, but look for it to hit shelves this fall.
