how can something running windows be described as an imac killer????????

come on guys…apple hardware is great but macosx is the real reason of their success.

  • pif

A large part of my job is servicing macs/supporting mac users and I can safely say the majority of people that buy iMacs wouldn’t even know what OSX is, they buy them because of the Apple brand, because they’re all-in-one and because they’re well priced.

Sony shows off yet another looker. I try not to buy Sony products too often due to their exorbitant prices but when you see electronics like this, it’s hard to resist!

what is apple macosx so gud about?

  • Wiinet

once you try OSX, you will know the difference. It doesnt go nuts and crashes like windows.

as for imac killer, it will never happen unless sony uses osx. spec wise, it kills a imac, but stability wise, its on the other side

  • macandwin

I agree with one of the posters. Majority of Mac sales are most definitely nothing to do with the O/S, hell, I doubt many buyers know what an O/S is! Purely out of reputation and because of Apple’s advertising campaign to make their products look ‘cool’…

  • Andrew

Sure people might like Macs initially because they look good and are marketed well but you can be sure they’ll notice the difference if next upgrade they had to use Windows. This is from experience, my sis and a number of older (about 45 years old) friends who are by no means technical.

Speaking of O/S, I think it all comes down to what you want to do with a computer. I think OSX is great for people who are artists and need stability and shortcuts for everything. It’s also good for low end users. I mean i would never make my mac as a HTPC or really use it to play games, I’m sure we all can agree that it’s one of their weaker, but not damaging, points.

This pc from sony seems to be aimed at a multimedia experience user which windows is known to handle better, aka I can watch more stuff on it. Also it includes blu-ray. By looks I want it, but price-wise I would never buy this.
