Sharp Unveils the Slimline D64U

Sharp is getting ready for the holidays with the release of its new AQUOS D64U sets. The new design attempts to increase LCD sizes without making the entire size of the set too big for anywhere-storage. In response to this, Sharp was able to make each set about 25 percent thinner and 20 percent lighter.

All sets are 1080p-native and sport dynamic contrast ratios of 10,000:1 while improved black and red levels make viewing the HDTV all the more enjoyable. Every set also offers a 4ms pixel response time and a 176-degree viewing angle.

If you’re still looking for more, each set offers three HDMI 1.3 inputs that will allow for better colors and enhanced 7.1-surround sound. Besides that, the inputs also support CEC and work with Sharp Blu-Ray players and other supporting devices to control them through the TV’s remote.

The D64U line will hit stores this month with 42-, 46-, and 52-inch models launching for $2,100, $2,700, and $3,800, respectively.
