Yeah, IDE doesn’t support hot plugging, so it would require cycling the power off/on when switching drives. But that’s a small sacrifice in return for the convenience of slotting in the drive so easily. Though I realize it’s unlikely they’d have a high enough demand for an IDE version to justify the manuf costs. :S

Do you have any contact information for the Black Box company?

I’m interested to find out if they have an IDE version as well. I received my SATA vers of it today, and it’s great. An IDE version would make life much easier for all the older drives that I also have!
