Promotional materials claim that the PRW-3000 can take altitude
measurements every second, but when you look at the technical
specifications, nothing has changed — it is still measurng only once
every 5 seconds, …. and that for just the first hour. After the first
hour, it reverts back to the horrible 2 minutes interval. So, where is
    the improvement?

When I ski for 7 or 8 hours, I would like to record
the total vertical skied. But, in 2 minutes, I can ski down the slope
in less than a minute and then back uphill again (at least part of the
way) on a ski lift. By taking measurements only once every 2 minutes,
this Casio watch would miss a lot of the vertical that I have actually
skied. Casio is completely ignoring skiers, snowboarders cyclists, runners, and any similar fast sports that involve fast vertical changes..
