Sony Drops Price of Upcoming BDP-300

Remember Sony’s Blu-ray Disc player that it promised would ship this summer for a cool $599.99? Well, obviously feeling the pressure of lower-cost models, Sony has decided to drop the price to $499.99.

In case you’re wondering, the BDP-300 will offer the same great functionality of other Blu-ray players and will actually be the cheapest way to get Blu-ray movies onto your HDTV.

The BDP-300 is shipping to retailers this week.
