Pioneer – “Potter Navi” – Cycling navigation unit with built-in communication module
Potter in style with the “Potter Navi” cycling navigation unit to be released in late March from Pioneer’s Cycle Lab.
With this navigation system, you can potter about (“putter around” in US English) using all the great tools that are built-in. It has a communication module using NTT docomo’s data and application services that cycling fans might appreciate, for example, for exercise stats, displaying/sharing information such as where your cycling friends are, weather forecast, route search, shops, maps, cafe information, etc.
As can be seen on the display screen, it has stats serious to cyclists – speed, distance, elevation, heart rate, cadence, etc. – all the things you need while pottering.
There is functionality that may appeal to women showing the popular destinations they can visit (for example, stores or cafes just featured on TV), and “Diet Mode” that displays exercise advice.
Price is 39,900 yen, with 2 years of free Docomo service. After 2 years, Docomo usage fees will be 300-400 yen per month (Details TBD).
