In New York, Sony had an event to talk about the new ideas they are working on and what we can expect in the future for PlayStation 4. There was a lot of discussion of ideas and cool features in the next version. Unfortunately, there was no hardware to look at, no pricing and minimal specs were revealed – PS4 will be coming out at the end of the year – in the 2013 holiday season.

A couple of the key points that were revealed that we can expect:
- An emphasis on social services, with more sharing capabilities online with friends and other players
- A new technological backbone – leaving behind the custom Cell processor for a more PC-style CPU. This is good in that it will be easier to work with, but bad because PS3 games will not be compatible with PS4

Otherwise, there was a lot of talk and demos but not a lot of specifics. That said, some of the teasers talked about by Sony will make the waiting very hard as we look forward to seeing what the PS4 will look like when it comes out.
