Sony VAIO - 18 new models for spring 2013 among its 5 series - Duo 11, T Series, S Series, E Series, L Series

Sony just revealed its new models for spring for VAIO’s 5 series with a total of 18 models. All are due to be released in Japan on February 9th. Laptop and desktop computers include 3 touch panel compatible models. All of these new models have Windows 8 “Office Home and Business 2013″ pre-installed.

I previously wrote about the convertible laptop/tablet “VAIO Duo11″ with Windows 8 64 bit on Intel Core i5, 11.6 inch display, 4GB RAM and SSD 128GB hard drive, but there are many more new notable products to introduce.

For “T Series”, there is a choice of 4 sizes to choose from – 11.6, 13.3, 14 and 15.5 inch. Its “Multi-gesture Touch Pad” allows you to smoothly scroll, zoom in/out, flip pages, etc. without using a mouse. It runs Windows 8 64 bit on Intel Core i5 or i7, with Ram from 4GB or 8GB. The hard drive is a Hybrid HDD (HDD + SDD) from 500GB to 1TB, depending on the model.

The “S Series”, intended for the creative person, has built-in software to edit movies and pictures easily. It runs Windows 8 64 bit on Intel Core i5 or i7, with Ram from 4GB to 12GB and 750GB to 1TB HD. There is a 13.3 and 15.5 inch model.

Similarly, the “E series” has an attractive rounded look to it, lots of software related to entertainment, pictures and movies. It runs Windows 8 64 bit and, depending on the model, Intel Core i5/i7, Pentium 2020M or AMD E2-2000. It has RAM from 4GB up to 16GB and hard drive of either 750GB or 1TB. Display sizes of 11.6, 14 and 15.5 inch.

You can view 3D contents with the desktop “L Series” and you can convert 2D contents to 3D contents. It runs Windows 8 64 bit on Intel Core i5 or i7, with Ram from 4GB up to 16GB and Hard drive of 2TB or 3TB. Display size is 24 inch.

Yep, I stand to my original opinion… the Duo 11 is an amazing piece of equipment. This is a very nice design and carries more punch than Microsoft’s own Surface Pro.

Agree 100% — why doesn’t the media cover this great machine more — its the best Windows 8 machine currently available.
