One of the highlights of Docomo’s roll-out of their 2013 “Spring Collection” was the Xperia Z Smartphone and Tablet pair. President and CEO, Kaoru Kato kicked off his product descriptions with these products and they were the centerpiece of the company’s product roll-out.

Designed to interact together as a pair in a seamless way, data, photos, etc. can be passed between each other easily and smoothly. Both are run on Android 4.1 and 100 Mbps Xi LTE, with a 1.5 GHz Quad Core.

Built by Sony, they will also interact smoothly with other NFC products such as the Sony portable Bluetooth/NFC speakers (SRS-BTX300 and SRS-BTX500) which we wrote about last week.

Xperia Z Smartphone – SO-02E
Mr Kato said that this phone was talked about with a lot of enthusiasm recently at CES in Las Vegas. It is sleek and stylish, and its display has a huge increase in pixels and clarity over the current version with an increase from 323 DPI HD to 443 DPI Full-HD. The phone’s camera accommodates for light that is too bright and nighttime shots, making pictures crisp and clear in more situations.

Orders will be taken from January 23 and it will go on sale, tentatively, from February 9.

Xperia Tablet Z – SO-03E
This is also stylish and improved and very sleek at 6.9mm thickness and 495 grams. Pictures can be transferred between your smartphone and tablet easily and quickly, by holding both units close to each other, and this capability was demonstrated convincingly at the event.

The Tablet will be on sale from mid-March.
