The Sony Cyber-shot S800

Sony has announced the 8.1-megapixel Cyber-shot S800, but the compact shooter really doesn’t offer anything new.

The all-metal body features a 6x optical zoom and a 12x digital zoom while featuring a 20mm Macro. The 2.5-inch LCD screen promises to offer crystal-clear imaging, and the company promises 390 shots on one battery charge. To round out the specs, the camera will sport 56MB of internal memory and 16:9 playback mode for widescreen TV viewing.

So far no pricing or availability information is known, but the camera should be coming to Japan soon.
