I for one am glad Hitachi stayed in the TV business; they’re
one of my favorite brands. They have the truest colors and deepest blacks of
just about any TV out there, and with this new model I purchased last week, two
of my four HDTVs are Hitachis. I recently picked up the 55 inch model, and love
it. I decided to buy a fourth TV after picking the DISH Hopper about a month
ago. The Hopper allows full HD and complete DVR access and functionality on
four separate sets, and with only three, we were running into DVR timer
conflicts and shows were getting skipped. When I decided to pick up another set
and started doing my research, a coworker of mine here at DISH recommended
Sony, and though they make a great TV, they also cost much more than the
Hitachi I went with. Once I got the Hopper running on all four sets it ended
the timer conflicts we’d been having, and also allowed everyone to watch their
favorite shows and movies in full HD. This Hitachi is great, too; five stars!

I though Hitachi was leaving the TV business?

When will they finally understand they should focus on other products than TV...

There cannot be that many TV makers in Japan: Hitachi, Toshiba, Panasonic, Sony, Sharp (oops), Mitsubishi (ooops)
