Yamaha’s Upconverting RX-V861 Receiver

The Yamaha RX-V861 is an upconverting 7.1-channel digital home theater receiver that promises to offer the very best in sound quality.

For a mere $1000, the RX-V861 will offer microphone-based speaker optimization and XM and iPod compatibility. Even better, the device will upconvert HDMI, S-Video or Component and output video to your screen through HDMI.

In terms of sound quality, the device will accept Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD through its seven speakers and subwoofer, and the seventeen DSP processing options could prove to be your best friend.

Along with an iPod dock and XM HD Sound, the RX-V861 can be yours in May for a mere $999.95.
