Hitachi unveils their new HD TVs with iVDR hard disk!

This morning in Yurakucho, Hitashi was inviting the Japanese press for the launch of their new PDP (Plasma) TVs. The Wooo 01 has quite a few new features, including FINALLY an iVDR module for this kind of product. Remember we talked about this technology a few times. It’s based on an external hard disk that can be used in a variety a products such as PCs, TVs, camcorders, DAPs, cars, etc. (Akihabara News and the iVDR). There are 5 new models ranging from 32 to 50″ (2 Full HD models and 2 HD Ready models) with support for iVDR-S (Secure) and a 250GB internal hard disk to record videos in HD.

On the Full HD models, the 50” version has a 10000:1 ratio for contrast and a 1100cd/m2 brightness. The 37” model has a 7000:1 ratio for contrast and a 500cd/m2 brightness. Both are equipped with 3 HDMI ports, 2 D4 ports…

Regarding the iVDR, you can choose between different storage capacities but the maximum is an additional 160GB. MAXELL, HITACHI and WARNER HOME VIDEO are teaming up to offer 5000 40GB iVDR hard disks containing one or more pre-recorded movies.
