The Creative Zen Vision still offer more for less

Creative Japan just announce 2 new Zen Vision, including models M and W. They now have 60GB and are even slimmer than previous versions (15% slimmer). The Zn Vision M measures 62x104x19mm and weights 170g (including the battery), and Zen Vision W measures 134x75x22mm and weights 280g (also with the battery). Now I’m pissed, cause the Zen Vision M looks very tempting… Who has one and could give me his/her advice?

I own one (Vision: M). Granted, it is an older, American version, but I doubt there is too much variance. It is a solid mp3 player with some nice features (FM player, microphone, a quality screen, good battery life for its time, etc.). However, I’m not sure I would recommend buying one right now. I would hold off for whatever the next generation of mp3 player will be. I say this because this particular mp3 player has been out for quite some time, and the moment Apple releases something new Creative will probably jump to make something of better value. Microsoft will probably do something with Zune as well. Unless you simply cannot wait or have money to burn, it would probably be best to just wait a while.

I sorta wished I hadn’t jumped the gun so early, but that can’t really be avoided with this sorta stuff.

Had the ZenVisionM, but I dislike two things on it which is why i sold it again:
    1. the proprietary dongle at the bottom, see anythingbutoipod.com
    2. MS Media Transfer Protocol

Maybe you’d like to read my review on it: http://blog.uhuru.de/?p=456

    hope this helps!

I have an American Vision M and I LOVE it. definitly the best mp3 player out there. I love the fact that it has a built in AM FM radio. I do not use the provided software to put music on it. I use Music Monkey it workes perfectly. I wish you could charge it without the dongle but its no big deal.
